Week 17 “Learning Reflection”

               I used reading English strategies were skimming, scanning, find references, find the keywords, guess words from the context. I think easy lesson is chapter 4 scanning because it is fun and easy to find for me. Hard lesson is writing the summary because I don’t understand the context and a lot of unknown words so I can’t do it. I try to remember the unknown words it is a good way to improve myself. This subject help me to improve pronunciation with Cambridge dictionary online and reading skill. For me I dislike this subject because I can’t stand to read in English but I love teacher because she is a very kind. So make me happy when I come to this class.

                Finally, I like to study with Dr. Usa because of her teaching is quiet slowly. Sometimes I don’t understand I can discuss with my friends. Teacher get it and take a time for me.

Week 16 Classic Ann Landers

          The class at 08:30 o’clock. The teacher checked the name. She gave a handout about “Classic Ann Landers” we read and did the activities while teacher also explained about this. She told that when we finished she let us to a break for 10 minutes. Then we arranged the chairs for quiz II for 50 minutes, 5 scores. Who finished could have lunch.

Week 14 Extensive reading (Vocabulary) and Unit 13 Read faster!

         Teacher checked our name at 8:30 then we learned continue. She assigned that the way to improve English skill and my answer was use scanning, reading in English when I found difficult words I would skip and read continue until the end. My obstacles were find difficult words and I don’t understand grammar. And we commented that agree or disagree.

1. I agree with good reader always reads at the same speed.

2. I disagree with should focus on one word at a time

3. I agree with can only understand a text If I  read it slowly.

4. I disagree with need to understand every word of what you're reading.

5. I agree with should always read from the first word in text to the last.

6.I disagree with  should use a dictionary  as soon as I come across an unknown word.

week 12 Extensive reading

               The class at 08:30 o’clock. The teacher checked the name and told our mid-term score, I got 7/20. We took the quiz II on 14 November 2016 then she asked “What is the extensive reading” some of friends answered this question. Teacher explained continued about this lesson make me understand more. She gave a new handout to us about “extensive reading” and discussed with friends.

We read the passages in our handout and had a break for 15 minutes. After that, started the class again 10:50 o’clock and explained continue each paragraph then we did by ourselves. We did activities and discussed with friends for found the correct answer. She let us had lunch.

I think this lesson is too hard because I can’t write the summary and confusing. I feel better cause I talk and constant with friends.

week 11 Chapter 4 scanning

               The class at 08:30 o’clock. The teacher assigned leader to check the name. Because He was speak louder than teacher. And then she gave us to the new topic about “Chapter 4 Scanning” She told us that there were group work for about three to four people which group was the fastest in the class then teacher told us that changed our paper and checked together. We had a break for fifteen minutes and stared again around 11:50 o’clock. We did activities and assigned homework that found the 4 news then identified about the summary of the news. Our deadline was on 31 October 2016. I think this lesson is easy and I can do it.

             The class started at 8:30. The teacher told us to our quiz score. I got 2 from 5 score but mid-term test score have not yet. And we learned “west meets east” We used reading strategies were guessing word meaning, skimming, find the references, scanning, make a previewing and predicting. And then the teacher assigned us to read again. We had a break about 15 minutes. And the last we discussed the questions with a partner. After that the teacher left us to have lunch.

Week 7 Fashion(1)

On Monday 12 September   2016 

              

              Today it was my duty to set up the equipment. I was so sure that I will be   late today because it was raining. Then I called my friend to do the duty for me today. But the final, I arrived before my friend, so I did my duty myself. Teacher came at 08:30 am. And check all the students name started from the last to the   first. She gave us   the activity sheet about Fashion to answer   6   questions.

                Then we used the Chambliss online dictionary to practice how to pronounce the words are bikini, skirts, sarong, jean, T-shirt  and tie. And teacher gave us the Fashion sheet and we have to finish the 1 activity and read   “Fusion? Confusion!” story and we have to write the main idea for 6 paragraph. After that, each group had to send the volunteer to write it on the board.

                When we all finished, teacher allowed us to have a break for 15 minutes and starts do the activity again at 10:55 Am. Until we finished. Teacher let us show the pictures about fashion, which she ordered us all to go find and bring it at the class today. Then disciple the appearance of the people in the pictures in a group for 2-3 people and presented the front about our pictures.

 Then teacher reach “spilling Hairs” for us and told us to do the activities as a homework.

week 6 Today's Technology(2)/Researchers worry as teens grow up online

               Today, the class started at 08:30 A.M. tea check checked and started the class with a question “what are advantages and disadvantages of using the internet?” We answered that the advantage of using the internet is to help us improve our English skill by watching the movie or video in English, cartoon and video clips. But if we use the internet all the time or long time, it can hurt our eyes and waste time.
After that, teacher let us using Cambridge online dictionary to practice pronouncing the words are “advantage, disadvantage, research, researcher, teenager and sociologist, etc.” Then, teacher gave us the 4 words are cyberspace, netizen, key pal and emoticon to find the meaning and gave us the short term of words are CU, RUOK, OMG, and LOL to find the complete or full words. After we finished the assignment, teacher gave us the work sheet and told us to read the article by using dictionary to help us understand the meaning and learn the difficult words that we didn’t know and do the activities.

         I think spending more 5 hours online is too much because it waste time and can make our eyes painful.
I don’t think that we can communicate by e-mail for everything some time, face to face communication is better such as telling someone that we love, we have to tell them face to face to show them how much we love them and look at their eyes.
If people lied to me online about their age or appearance, it would bother me. Because we have to be honest to all the people who communicate with us. If we are not be honest to the people, we cannot be friends.

             My teacher checked our name and she selected someone in class to answer that “What technologies are you use to learn English? How? We concentrated because afraid of selection by her. After, she gave assignment-unit 3 Today’s Technologies. She assigned to activity 1, 2 and 3 we used strategies to reading were skimming, scanning, predicting and guessing the words. When we already read about podcasts yet, someone of group was in front of the class to present the summary of podcasts. I thought sometimes difficult and easy too.

week 4 Natural disaster/News stories(2)

           We had class on the weekend because today made up class for compensation. My teacher assigned activities about natural disaster then explained it and she suggested how to pronounce these words.   We grouped 4 people and discussed our news. I thought that new words about natural disaster were difficult but I wanted to solve by asked my friends and practiced to pronunciation. But, some deal of activities were easy for me. And she gave us some question that “What technologies are you use to learn English? How? And we must answer this question tomorrow.

 Finally, I believe I can do it better!

week 3 Natural disaster/News stories(1)

                Our class started  late today because we didn’t prepare ourselves to be ready for the class and didn’t set the equipment.  Teacher was unhappy and angry about that. So we apologized and   promised that we will not be like this again and we will improve   ourselves to be more responsible.  After that, teacher showed us the video about natural disaster like Tsunami in Japan. Then she gave us the group assignment to discuss about what happen in the video and present to the class. We had learned a lot of new words by using online dictionary to help us find the meaning of the world and how to pronounce them. I thought sometimes difficult and easy too.

Week 2

                          Last Monday (August 8^th, 2016), teacher assigned a group project to my class. She separated us to 4 people in a group and told us to bring 10 pictures of food and explained each picture about which the healthy food is or which the unhealthy food is.

                

                        Then she gave us the other group assignment to plane the menu for 3 meals a day for 1 week by choosing the healthy foods, she gave us 25 minutes and said that we had to finish this assignment in a class. But no group finished on time, so she gave us 5 minutes more. After we all finished the assignments, we had to send a volunteer to present about our meal plane. Before the class ended, she checked all the group works and assigned us the homework.

Week1 Introduction / healthy diet ?

Healthy diet

On Monday , first day of term.I came to the class at 8:00 o'clock but I didn't have breakfast because I wasn't hungry then about 8:30 everyone came to the class together and started this class.

First,teacher introduced herself in English and gave course syllabus and explained that and wrote strategies and assigned activities ,finished we checked the answer and assigned our homework ,took food's photoes then found the name of that food's pictures for identify that next week
After , Teacher allowed us had lunch. After class I think this lesson about diet it was easy but I think I had the problem about reading skill in this subject but I will prepared this part more ,I used main idea skill to my reading. My attitude to this subject were total easy and hard.
